UHMWPE / PE1000 Material Overview

UHMWPE sheet is a high molecular weight polyethylene material known for excellent abrasion resistance, very low coefficient of friction, high impact strength, low moisture absorption and good chemical resistance. It is widely used for wear liners, conveyor guide rails, chain guides, sliding pads, marine fender pads, ground contact components and CNC-machined industrial plastic parts.

Material Selection Notes

UHMWPE sheet is a strong choice when abrasion resistance, impact toughness, low friction and chemical stability are more important than high stiffness. If the part must carry heavy continuous load at elevated temperature, design should consider creep, support area and thickness. For high-stiffness, high-temperature or precision-bearing applications, materials such as nylon, POM, PTFE, PEEK or glass-filled grades may also be evaluated.
