Self-extinguishing, abrasion-resistant ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene sheet engineered for underground mining, coal hoppers, and conveyor wear systems where fire safety is mandatory.
Our flame retardant UHMW-PE sheet (PE1000 FR) combines the legendary abrasion resistance of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene with engineered fire-safety performance. Using virgin PE1000 polymer (molecular weight 5–9 million g/mol) blended with halogen-free flame retardant additives, the resulting sheet achieves a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) of ≥27 and passes UL94 V-0 self-extinguishing tests at 6 mm and above — making it the material of choice for underground coal mines, conveyor systems near hot equipment, and any application where a standard plastic liner would represent an unacceptable fire risk.
Compared with standard UHMW-PE, our FR grade retains over 90% of the original wear resistance (sand-slurry abrasion approx. 100, taking steel as reference), maintains a low coefficient of friction (0.10–0.20 against steel), and continues to perform from −200 °C up to +80 °C continuous service. It will not absorb water, will not rot, and is unaffected by the corrosive slurries, acid mists, and ammonia atmospheres typical in mining and chemical processing.
Each batch is produced on our own ram-extrusion and compression-molding lines, with full in-house QC including LOI testing, density measurement, Charpy impact, and surface-resistivity (for the optional anti-static FR-AS variant). Sheets are supplied with mill certificate, FDA/SGS test reports, and REACH/RoHS compliance — ready for European, North American, and South American customers in 40+ countries.

Values are typical. Mill test certificate and third-party SGS / Intertek reports are issued with every shipment.
Halogen-free FR additive achieves LOI ≥27 and UL94 V-0. Stops burning within 5 seconds after flame removal.
Outwears carbon steel by 6–7×, Nylon-6 by 4×, and PTFE by 2× in mineral slurries — protects steel structures behind it.
Maintains impact strength at cryogenic temperatures — perfect for cold-region mines and LNG-adjacent installations.
Inert to acids, alkalis, salt water, and most solvents at ambient temperature. Ideal for chemical plants and marine environments.
< 0.01% in 24 h — dimensions stay stable in humid mines and underwater applications. No swelling, no rot.
FR-AS variant adds permanent surface resistivity 10⁶–10⁹ Ω for ATEX zones, grain silos, and powder-handling lines.
Chute and bunker liners, scraper conveyor sideboards, methane-zone wear plates.
Skirt boards, transfer-chute liners, idler covers in coal, cement, and grain handling.
Hopper liners, ore-bin lining, dust-suppression boxes near hot zones.
Anti-bridging silo liners with FR-AS variant for ATEX-classified facilities.
Cable-tray liners, fire-rated wall panels in subway and railway tunnels.
Wear liners for shredder discharge chutes and refuse-derived-fuel handling.
