Product Description

Jiasheng Plastics specializes in the production of high-performance food grade polypropylene (PP) sheets, manufactured using premium-grade 100% virgin resin. These sheets are specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of the food and beverage industry, pharmaceutical sector, and laboratory environments. Unlike standard commercial plastics, our food-grade PP is free from recycled content, ensuring that there is no risk of contamination, odor, or chemical migration into sensitive products. With a density of just 0.90–0.91 g/cm³, it is the lightest of all major engineering plastics, providing significant weight savings for large-scale industrial installations.

Our PP sheets exhibit outstanding chemical resistance, making them virtually impervious to most acids, alkalis, and organic solvents even at elevated temperatures. The material maintains its structural integrity and surface finish in environments where other materials would corrode or degrade. Its high heat distortion temperature allows it to be used in applications reaching up to 100°C, and it is fully capable of withstanding pressurized steam sterilization and frequent chemical washdowns. This makes it an ideal substrate for the fabrication of chemical storage tanks, laboratory fume hoods, and industrial dishwashing components.

Each sheet is produced using state-of-the-art extrusion lines that ensure consistent thickness tolerances and a smooth, low-friction surface finish. The material is highly versatile in terms of fabrication; it can be easily cut, drilled, routed, and thermoformed. For complex assemblies, it offers excellent weldability using hot-air or butt-joining techniques, resulting in high-strength, leak-proof joints. Whether you require standard 4x8 ft sheets or custom-cut components, Jiasheng Plastics provides the technical support and manufacturing capacity to meet your specific project requirements with direct-factory pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is your PP sheet safe for direct food contact?
Yes, our food-grade polypropylene sheets are manufactured from 100% virgin PP resin that complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 and EU Regulation 10/2011. They are non-toxic, odorless, and do not leach chemicals into food products. We provide SGS test reports verifying compliance with international food safety standards with every shipment.
What are the temperature limits for food-grade PP?
Our standard PP sheets are designed for a service temperature range of -10°C to +100°C. They have a melting point of approximately 165°C, which allows them to withstand boiling water and high-temperature steam cleaning without losing their shape or structural integrity. For applications involving extreme cold below -20°C, we recommend our polyethylene-based product range.
Can these polypropylene sheets be joined?
Polypropylene PP sheets are best joined via mechanical fastening — bolting, T-bolt anchors, or counter-bored screws. Jiasheng Plastics CNC-machines all required hole patterns to your drawing for ready-to-install joints for tank and equipment fabrication.
What sizes and thicknesses do you stock?
We maintain a large stock of standard 1220×2440mm and 1500×3000mm sheets in white and natural. Standard thicknesses range from 2mm to 30mm. For custom requirements, we can extrude sheets up to 80mm thick or produce large-format sheets up to 2000×4000mm. Custom orders typically have a lead time of 7–14 days depending on our production schedule.
How does PP compare to HDPE for food applications?
While both are FDA-compliant, PP is significantly stiffer and has a higher heat deflection temperature than HDPE, making it the better choice for structural parts or components exposed to hot water. HDPE, however, has better impact resistance at freezing temperatures. If your application involves heavy impact or sub-zero storage, HDPE might be preferable; for tanks and rigid surfaces, PP is usually the winner.
What is the MOQ for custom colors?
For our standard colors (White, Natural, Grey), the MOQ is quite low, starting at just 200 kg (approx. 5-10 sheets depending on thickness). For custom color matching to RAL or Pantone specifications, the MOQ is typically 1,000 kg per color. We are happy to provide A4-sized samples for quality and color evaluation before you commit to a bulk order.
