Product Description

Jiasheng Plastics' PA66 + MoS2 nylon sheet is a high-performance variant of Polyamide 66, modified with the addition of Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2) lubricant. This specialized filler transforms the standard engineering plastic into a superior self-lubricating material specifically designed for industrial components subject to high friction and wear. The MoS2 particles are distributed uniformly throughout the polymer matrix, providing a permanent lubricating effect that does not wash away or require replenishment. This makes it an ideal choice for machinery where traditional liquid lubricants are difficult to apply or could contaminate the environment.

Compared to virgin PA66, our MoS2-filled grade offers significantly enhanced mechanical properties. The filler acts as a nucleating agent during the manufacturing process, resulting in a higher degree of crystallinity. This translates to increased surface hardness, higher tensile strength, and improved dimensional stability under load. Furthermore, the coefficient of friction is reduced from approximately 0.30 in standard nylon to as low as 0.20, which substantially reduces heat buildup during operation and extends the service life of sliding components like bearings, bushings, and wear strips.

We produce our PA66 + MoS2 sheets using advanced extrusion and casting techniques to ensure a void-free internal structure and exceptional flatness. The material is recognized for its excellent machineability; it holds tight tolerances and produces a superior surface finish on CNC equipment. Whether you are designing complex gears, high-load sliding pads, or durable bushings for agricultural machinery, Jiasheng Plastics provides the high-quality semi-finished sheets and rods or fully finished CNC components needed to ensure your equipment operates reliably in the most demanding environments.

Key Features & Advantages

Self-Lubricating

Internal MoS2 filler provides continuous lubrication. Reduces the need for external grease and maintenance.

High Wear Resistance

Modified molecular structure outlasts standard PA6, PA66, and POM in high-load sliding applications.

Enhanced Hardness

Higher crystallinity leads to better surface hardness (Shore D 85) and resistance to deformation under load.

Dimensional Stability

MoS2 filler reduces thermal expansion and creep, allowing for tighter tolerances in precision components.

Vibration Damping

Excellent noise reduction and impact absorption properties compared to metallic industrial components.

Easy CNC Machining

Produces clean chips and smooth finishes. Ideal for high-speed routing, milling, and lathe work.

Typical Applications

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the benefit of adding MoS2 to Nylon PA66?
The addition of Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2) acts as a solid lubricant, significantly reducing the coefficient of friction (from ~0.30 down to ~0.20) compared to virgin PA66. This results in superior wear resistance, especially in unlubricated sliding applications. Furthermore, MoS2 acts as a nucleating agent, increasing the material's crystallinity and surface hardness.
Can PA66 + MoS2 be used in high-temperature environments?
PA66 + MoS2 offers good thermal performance with a continuous service temperature range of -40°C to +110°C. It can withstand short-term peaks up to 180°C. While it is stable at these temperatures, designers should account for the fact that all nylons absorb some moisture, which can slightly affect dimensions in humid high-heat conditions.
How does the machining of MoS2-filled nylon compare to standard nylon?
PA66 + MoS2 is generally easier to machine to tight tolerances than virgin nylon. The MoS2 filler makes the material slightly more rigid and less prone to 'gumming' or melting during high-speed cutting. It produces cleaner chips and allows for an exceptional surface finish on CNC lathes and milling machines when using sharp carbide tools.
What are the standard sizes for your MoS2 nylon sheets?
Our standard sheet sizes are 1000×2000mm and 1220×2440mm. We stock thicknesses from 5mm up to 100mm. We also maintain a large inventory of MoS2-filled nylon rods in diameters from 10mm to 300mm. Custom-cut blocks and machined components are available with short lead times to meet your specific project requirements.
Does this material require external lubrication?
One of the primary advantages of PA66 + MoS2 is its self-lubricating property. In many industrial applications, it can operate successfully without any external grease or oil, which is ideal for environments where contamination must be avoided. However, applying a small amount of initial lubricant during the first hours of operation can further enhance its long-term performance.
What is the typical lead time for custom CNC parts?
Semi-finished products (sheets and rods) are usually in stock and can ship in 3–5 working days. For finished CNC-machined parts such as gears, bushings, or wear pads, the lead time is typically 10–15 days after we receive your drawing. We offer competitive pricing for both small prototyping runs and high-volume industrial production.
